Playing catch up

Here are the highlights of the last several months told by photos because I really can't remember. My brain was very frazzled the first half of the year.  I'll post separately about all of the major running events that Chris has done in the first half of the year later.

November-January

Chris bought me a new Jeep in November!  I've always wanted a Jeep and I couldn't be happier with him, his name is Maximus.

February-March

For Chris's Valentine's Day present I got him tickets to a whiskey tasting.  He was very excited about it and found several new whiskeys that he likes.

Chris bought me a new Kate Spade purse for my Valentine's Day present.

We celebrated Valentine's Day at one of our favorite restaurants and of course we had to get dessert to celebrate!

March was a very interesting month with things breaking.  I was going to go to Vegas in May with Chris since he was going to be there for conference.  But, the rule of 3 happened and I needed a new tire replaced in my new Jeep, the stove blow up and had to be replaced and the heater gave out!  So needless to say I didn't end up going to Vegas!

We attended the Wine Opener for Cystic Fibrosis.

I celebrated my birthday with a bright dress that my sister bought me.

Newton wasn't happy about not having any heat.  We woke up and it was in the low 40s in the house.

April- May

Baxter finally got a haircut!

We attended a Country Chic Gala and we even had to buy Chris a cowboy shirt.  I already had the denim jacket and cowboy boots.

Love and baseball

Last Friday was opening day for Razorback baseball and this year it fell on Valentine's Day.  You couldn't ask for a more perfect day in my opinion.  Chris and I took the day off so we could enjoy some time off together.  Chris did have to go to a work breakfast so I got to have breakfast with my parents.  After that we met up at Brandon Eye Clinic to get Chris some new hipster glasses ordered.  He's wanted new frames for a while now.  We meet up with our baseball crew at Sassy's for some lunch before heading to the game.

The game was pretty cold and since we were winning we decided to leave in the 6th inning.  We spent the night shopping and eating at our favorite fried chicken place.  We really didn't want to go somewhere fancy since we were going to Melting Pot with friends Saturday night in Tulsa and Chris had just booked our vacation to Rivera Maya, Mexico that day. If you've never been to Melting it's totally worth driving over to Tulsa to eat at. Just make sure that you haven't eaten a lot that day so you can enjoy all of the food! All in all it was a perfect way to spend Valentine's weekend.

Baseball recap

Well the baseball season for the Razorback Baseball team finished last Sunday.  We didn't make it out of regionals. But the last home series was actually last month.  I just never got around to posting pics from the final series.  Friday night was fireworks night but it really wasn't fun because we lost the game.  I'm kinda glad that baseball season is over with.  Normally I'm really sad about a season ending but it was really strange this year.  Maybe it was because we were crazy busy and didn't have a lot of spare time.  Hopefully next year we're better and we can at least make it to super regionals.

We couldn't pass up having our picture taken with Ribby in a suit.  The guy who actually plays Ribby graduated this year so it's my last picture with this Ribby.

Bark at the park

Last month we took the dogs to their first baseball game.  One of the perks of working for the city is that all full time staff get two tickets to the minor league baseball team.  It so just happens that the tickets I forgot for this year fell on Bark at the Park.  I've always wanted to take the dogs but there is normally a home Razorback baseball game going on at the same time.  Thankfully it was an away series so we were able to take the pups.

They had a really good time and we made it to the top of the 4th inning before we decided to leave.  Newton wanted to attack one of the bigger dogs that was on our row.  Other than that they loved it.  Newton loved being able to watch the baseball game and all of the people.  Baxter just liked being out with Chris.  We'll definitely have to take them again next year.

February Recap

February went by with a whirl of activities.  Our friend Valerie came back from Germany to visit some local universities to recruit for Black Forest Academy.  We all went to Hugo's one of her favorite restaurants.  She stayed the night with us so we got to visit with her for a little bit longer.  We definitely miss them!

Chris surprised me for Valentine's Day with an antique picture frame from the Cellar Door Antiques.  One of my coworkers owns this store and they have great antiques.  If you love to go antique shopping you need to stop by her store.

We printed off a picture of the Bridge of Sighs from Venice, Italy.

We also decided to replace the other pictures on the mantel with pictures that we took in Venice.

The other thing that Chris got me for Valentine's Day goes along with one of my favorite things, Razorback Baseball! You guys have probably noticed I have an obsession with a particular mascot called Ribby. I just can't believe that it's baseball season again.  If you want to know where we'll be for the next several months you should probably check Baum Stadium.

College World Series

When we found out that the Razorbacks were going to be playing in the College World Series we decided we needed to go Omaha and support them!  We debated it for awhile and I'm so glad that we finally decided to go because we had an absolute blast.  I wish that we had more time to spend there but everyone to go back to work today.  We left Saturday morning at 4 in the morning and we got to Omaha around 10:00.  When we made it there it started raining and we weren't able to go see the old College World Series Stadium, Rosenblatt.  They wouldn't let anyone in since it was storming and we didn't have time to wait around for it to stop.  We got some pictures from the outside but I'm a little sad we didn't get to go in.  I've always wanted to go to Rosenblatt stadium and it's really sad that they are going to be demolishing it in a few days.

After we got done viewing Rosenblatt we headed over to the new stadium and found some parking underneath an overpass.  Since it was still raining we went to a local sports bar and got some really good food.  By the time we were finished with lunch it had thankfully stopped raining and we were able to go to the fan zone and then to the game.  The new stadium is really nice and our seats were awesome.  We paid more to have seats in the shade but I'm so thankful that we did.  I walked around a little bit during the game and it was so hot in the sun.

There were close to 24,000 people in attendance and the majority of them were Razorback fans.

I'm so glad that the Razorbacks won their first game and we play again tonight against South Carolina.  I'm hoping that we can pull out another win!  I can now say that I've been to the College World Series before!  After the game we went to a local Italian steakhouse and eat some really yummy food and then drove back to our hotel room which was two hours away.  We made one last stop at Rosenblatt to say goodbye to Omaha and the College World Series. WPS!
